Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and care for children and youth in a residential setting, ensuring safety, well-being, and adherence to agency policies.
• Build positive, professional relationships with youth, staff, families, and community partners.
• Support youth development by modeling appropriate behavior, social skills, conflict resolution, academic engagement, and independent living skills.
• Implement treatment plans, behavior support strategies, the HART Model, and the SELF framework (Safety, Emotion, Loss, Future).
• Monitor medications, attend medical appointments, communicate medical information, and respond appropriately to emergencies and crises using approved intervention techniques.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment, including reporting hazards, securing restricted items, and ensuring facility and vehicle upkeep.
• Complete all required documentation, reports, and records accurately and on time.
• Transport youth safely to appointments and activities while following all driving and safety regulations.
• Participate in required training, maintain regulatory compliance, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum one year of experience working with children; residential care or human services experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and documentation skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and ability to drive agency vehicles.
• Must obtain required Act 33/34 and FBI clearances.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain alert and actively supervise youth throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift/push up to 20 lbs independently and up to 50 lbs with assistance.
• Ability to walk, climb stairs, respond quickly to crises, and physically implement approved CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) techniques.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person and by phone.
• Regular and reliable attendance required.
