Business Manager, Air Service Development

The Director of Air Service Development leads strategy and execution to retain and grow passenger and cargo air service at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) and Allegheny County Airport (AGC). Reporting to the Vice President of Air Service and Commercial Development, this role oversees the air service development team, manages airline and stakeholder relationships, analyzes industry and economic trends, and develops data-driven strategies to support route success and growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and manage the Air Service Development team.
  • Develop and implement strategies to retain and attract passenger and cargo air services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, aviation partners, businesses, and community stakeholders.
  • Monitor industry, legislative, and economic trends and recommend action plans.
  • Oversee market research, route analysis, and performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate internally (marketing, communications, partners) to support airlines and promote services.
  • Drive customer-centric account management and customer care plans.
  • Engage regional passenger and cargo communities.
  • Coach, develop, and manage staff performance.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, marketing, aviation management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience (air service development preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of airline economics, passenger and cargo markets.
  • Project management, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license.
